Chunk Churn Dash, Easy Breezy and a Whole Lot of Other Stuff from The Modern Diary

I pulled out my leftover blocks to see what I could use to make a bunch of Christmas stockings for the step grands, honorary grands and grands.  I have lots of stockings in progress now but no pictures yet.

Found these churn dash blocks left over from I do not know what in my bins.  Could not find another project with this size churn dashes on my blog so no idea why I made them.  I need to make at least one more in order to complete a tiny top....or make more so I can have a baby size ...

Morewood Mystery, Games and Chunky Churn Dashes Galore! from The Modern Diary


Spent some time these past weeks cutting and sewing four Chunky Churn Dash quilts from Quiltville.  Free pattern if you click on the link.  SUPER fun and fast.  I was not planning on making four baby quilts (though I always seem to be in need of them for gifts) but it was fun since I used my huge bucket of kid fabrics.  I just kept on making sets while gabbing on the video phone with BJ and sometimes Andrea too.  At least we have technology during Covid to keep up close.

Birthdays and Chunky Churn Dashes from The Modern Diary

 My birthday was last Thursday and I had a really nice day!  Kathy got me the Once Upon a Book Club selection and I saved it to read that afternoon.  If you have never seen this before, you get a book and several gifts to open on certain pages of the book.  The gifts relate to the story.  (If you get this and have not read August's yet, do not scroll down as I do post a picture of what the gifts were--do not want to spoil it for anyone!).  I loved this so much I ordered another one ...

A Flimsy Finish and a Start from The Modern Diary

I finished the Jelly Snowflake Mystery Quilt top.  Turned out cute and most likely will be quilted by me and become a baby gift.  I never seem to have a shortage of folks who want a baby quilt so I am focused on doing more of those.  To that end, I have been Video Sewing with BJ (and Andrea) and BJ was telling me how much fun she was having with Bonnie Hunter's Chunky Churndash blocks.  That got me thinking I could use my kid fabric and make some more baby quilts!
